ENGINEERS THE WORLD NEEDS
Our world faces increasingly complex issues and we need engineers who can rise to these challenges.
The problems of today are unlike anything we have seen before and continue to grow in scope and complexity. As the world changes, one thing remains the same—engineers play a critical role in solving problems that impact our lives.
The world needs USask engineers, whose qualities and values are nurtured to inspire success, cultivate innovation and deliver value. Now is the time. This is the place. We invite you to join our ambitious vision for the future, to develop the engineers our world needs.
Current Priorities

IDEAS Building
As our world changes, we need engineers who can solve increasingly complex problems. A bold transformation of the College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan will invite and inspire more students to rise to these challenges. With alumni, donors, and industry partners by our side, we will create the Innovation, Design, Engineering and Applied Sciences Expansion (IDEAS)—a visionary learning environment that helps us attract the best students, encourages collaboration and innovation, and strengthens our diverse community.

Engineering Design Hub
A bold transform of the Hardy Lab will create the Engineering Design Hub, a campus destination for design and experiential learning. As the technical core for student-led design projects and multi-disciplinary group work, the Design Hub will include:
- Capstone design space
- Cenovus Energy Makerspace
- Shops: Metals, Wood, Plastic, Composite, Electronic
- Student design garage bay

Engineering Dean’s Fund
The Engineering Dean's Fund is an endowment fund supporting high-priority projects and initiatives that might otherwise go unsupported. With your support, students will achieve their first paid work placement in the Summer Discovery Internships, enjoy experiential learning on design teams, and experience formative development opportunities at professional events and conferences - among other important initiatives!

Engineering Advancement Trust (EAT)
The Engineering Advancement Trust (EAT) has been championed and carried by alumni who provide gifts to ensure current and innovative teaching tools are available for students. With technology changing at a lightning pace, EAT funding has enabled the college to acquire many pieces of valuable laboratory and shop equipment.

Engineering General Funds
By giving to the College of Engineering General fund, you are investing in the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders and ensuring that they have access to the cutting-edge research and hands-on learning they need to be the engineers the world needs.

Indigenous People’s Initiatives Fund
The Indigenous Peoples Initiative Fund is dedicated to funding projects, programs, and initiatives that enhance the recruitment, education, and retention of Indigenous students in the College of Engineering as well as outreach to the Indigenous community.
