Be What the World Needs

ARTS AND SCIENCE THE WORLD NEEDS

Our world faces increasingly complex issues and we need professionals who can rise to these challenges.

The world needs YOU. With your help, the College of Arts and Science will continue to be what the world needs.

No matter what you are most passionate about, there are no shortage of options to maximize the impact of your gift.

Current Priorities

School for the Arts

We are living in a complex and disconnected world, but the arts have the transformative power to bring us together. As a shared language across all cultures, the arts have the unique ability to build bridges. The arts are the heart of the University of Saskatchewan, providing a source of joy across campus and beyond.

The School for the Arts established in the College of Arts and Science will reaffirm and celebrate the essential and distinctive role of the fine and performing arts in connecting the university with the local community, and as well as nationally and internationally.

Your gift in support of the School for the Arts will help to fund space and equipment upgrades and provide support for students across all fine arts disciplines through awards, special lectures, and student engagement activities. Where possible, these funds will be used to encourage collaboration and interdisciplinary opportunities between the disciplines of art and art history, drama, and music.

Student Experience Fund

Nothing beats real-world experience. In today's competitive job market, internships are more important than ever. Industry is looking for graduates with skill sets transferable from the humanities, social sciences, and fine and performing arts that emphasize communication, critical thinking skills, knowledge mobilization and plain language translation.

The College of Arts and Science has a strong track-record for providing work integrated learning experiences to undergraduate students across nine of its 19 departments. Through your support of the Student Experience Fund, our Office of Experiential Learning and Skills Training will ensure that any student in Arts and Science who wishes to pursue an internship will have the opportunity to do so. This will enhance our students’ learning experiences, create skills-ready graduates, and ensure the province has a strong, reliable, and well-equipped workforce to draw from.
